The Foundry address is found in number 1 in the intelligence section. The following separate pages contain the images of these figures as they are broken down into two batches. The first batch/page contains images of: DA232 Belgian Askari's in Straw Hats
I must say I have not researched the Belgians and Askaris as yet, so I really do not know whether these uniforms are correct or not. Having said that I do know German uniforsm and have heard several colonial ??? gamers say these were more German Askaris than Belgian. Right off I can wholeheartedly say what a load of BS. I can also say they are not subscribers to any colonial magazine or online group--just colonial gamers who do their own research. And it makes you wonder how they got through school. These uniforms are not even close to German Askaris. While the Askari poses are somewhat static their faces reflect their characters. The Belgian Officers are great particularly the rider, asleep in the saddle?, and the one with a cap just super. The European Travellers and Traders, not marked on the page, are superior. The cricketeer, is that right, looks ready to take on any tribe by himself. These gents are a welcome addition to the previous ladies. The following page to the above contains:
No, that's a camp stool not a couple of crosses, although you could still use them for crosses on some freshly dug graves. The hunter that is firing doesn't quite lookm right, as though the gun isn't tucked into his shoulder properly. The gent with the cuppa is wonderful. The two British officers will go great painted up with most any unit. The Masai characters are superb. I hope that there are more to come. The one on one leg is typical. The spiralling horn blower will go great in a tower. The two women, one struggling with a wood bundle, look great. The Baluchi swordsmen will be a great addition to your dastardly Arab henchmen or as the Sultans guards. This set is probably the best of the Baluchis so far. My overall impression for the latest from The Foundry is, as usual, very favorable. Mark Copplestone continues to do some of the best sculpting in the hobby today.
