I have a pack of Minifigs TSATF 25mm Pathan Riflemen to give away free. If you want them, let me know now. Sorry this issue is so late, no matter how or what I tried it just didn't work out on time. I received a letter report from Russ Lockwood at magweb, as well as seeing him again at Fall In!, commenting on and showing particulars of the success of The Heliograph on magweb. Go figure. Anyway, The Heliograph placed ninth on the list of 57 magazines, the third quarter, maybe fourth, in the top ten. Plus there were two articles in the top 100, out of 10,000, beats me, at number 45 "German Colonial Uniforms" from issue 105 and the editorial at number 76 from issue 96???? The editorial!! Oh Well. To give magweb credit I have picked up several new subscribers. I have also begun picking up subscribers in Australia and Germany from a variety of sources. This issue has a very nice TSATF supplement, with tables, for Darkest Africa. Next issue will have another TSATF supplement for the French Foreign legion, an article by Howard Whitehouse on the FFL as well as the continuation of my rules testing for Darkest Africa and the final photo/illustration layout for the Spanish-American War - The Philippine Insurrection of 1899. Shortly I will be producing three special issues, made up of past Heliograph articles possibly with some new material (more later): 1) German Colonial Uniforms, with color cover and some color plates. The articles have already appeared in the Heliograph, there will probably be some new illustrations and OBs if I can find some more. 2) All the gunboat articles with foldout drawings. 3) Spanish-American War Articles and Photos. The next issue will follow closely after this reaches you, certainly by the 21st of February. I continue to search for a suitable set of rules, other than Blake Walker's TSATF for Darkest Africa. The rules for a great game need to be on an almost one to one basis, or role playing. Yes, there are larger actions, but to play the smaller skirmishes and tentative attacks on the safaris by pygmies or small tribes rules for individual action are necessary and I keep going back to The Rules With No Name with its various supplements, especially for the Plains Indian Wars as being the most suitable. If you have any other rules that are suitable please let me know or write up a copy and send it here.
