LATEST NEWS FLASHIt is sad to have to report that after 22 years Richard Houston is closing up shop for all his lines of colonials and ships and quitting the business. By October the colonials will no longer be produced. By Siege of Augusta, in January 1999, Richard will be taking his figures and models to his last convention as a manufacturer. BUT, DON'T WAIT THAT LONG. IF YOU WANT ANY OF RICHARD HOUSTON'S FIGURES AND SHIPS OR 25MM SHIP FITTINGS, GUNS AND ACCESSORIES GET THEM NOW!!!! The molds are going to Rudy Nelson and Richard is not sure what will happen to them. Included in this issue are reviews of a few more of Houston's ship fittings and his "Rorke's Drift" Battle in a box. All well worth the money. Richard said "Colonials have fallen off to practically nothing. I sent out lots of catalogs but no purchases, it's no longer worth the effort." Order now, Richard does not keep much stock floating around so order while he has the molds to produce the figures and accessories. Houston has lots of true 25mm figures for all those strange wars that the British fought. Unfortunately I can't find his list to reproduce it here for you to see. I do remember Tibetians and Abyssinians and lots more call him with what you need to fill out your armies with at 405-751-1827. My order is going out with this newsletter. The remainder of the Spanish-American War photos and illustrations for Cuba and Puerto Rico will be in the next issue (October), while the February issue will contain the Philippines photos. Those of you who like foldouts hang on to your, well, um....hats. Those of you interested in Savage and Soldier will want to read Andy Preziosi's letter at the end of the Dispatches. Enclosed there is an extra page of the ship sheet (poetic ain't I) for Bob Giglio's rules so you don't have to destroy the issue to copy the sheet for your river boat game. Finally, I have begun enclosing bills for those end of subscription blues rather then writing on the labels.
