Time has caught up with me too quickly once again, I had hoped to have a flyer finished and sent to each of you to place in your local hobby shop or wherever gamers meet to try and interest them in the Heliograph. I still might have it done and in this mailing, if not next time, please try and post these where other gamers might see them and give us a try. We could sure use the added subscription base. This issue has a pull out section with plans for a stern paddle wheeler, I hope you find useful. In an upcoming issue I will have the plans for a side wheeler. Finally there is some information for Southeast African German Colonial uniforms, thanks greatly to Bruce Wiese's help. Speaking of help, Ron Lizorty has sent along the cover you see and made some suggestions for future covers. THANK YOU RON for a great job well done! I have received materials from three subscribers for the upcoming (JUNE) issue on the 100th anniversary of the Spanish-American War issue, please help us out with more scenarios, articles or reviews. Also coming up in August is the anniversary issue for the 1898 Sudan Campaign, while October is the anniversary issue for the NWF 1898 campaign, I can really use the help with articles, scenarios, and reviews of new or old materials you think relevant to the period. I'll even take rule revisions specifically for these areas. Recently, I have begun to examine my troops with an idea to, gasp, retire some. Like that's really gonna happen. I came across my Franco-Prussian War men and decided to do a campaign after sprucing them up a little and adding, of course, more lead to the roster. I had some Wargames Foundry Prussians, Richard Houston artillery, and some touchup painting on some old SAE Union Cavalry now posing as re-painted French Cavalry to do. I still have some re-painting of Germans into a more realistic 1870 uniform rather than 1914 while I'm waiting for the Foundry catalog to arrive to order the last unit to complete the Prussians. Every time my brush touches a Foundry figure I'm amazed at how well they look even after I paint them. After Cold War I should be ready to have a go with them. Speaking of COLD WARS I will be in the Host Bar Friday night from 6-6:30pm, I'm the bearded, slightly graying fat guy, if my son is with me I'll be sitting with a mountain who looks like, but isn't, a football player. Stop by and join me/us, maybe for supper. It's that time of the year when most of your subscriptions end, please reenlist for another year in the colonial army. The Heliograph needs YOU!
