I hope this finds ya'll health and happy at this holiday season. To those of you who are new subscribers welcome, happy holidays and don't be afraid to send an article, letter or review of anything colonial.

If you write and/or resubscribe please note that the Post Office has given me a new address, actually a different route number, they will still deliver to the old route number until October 98. And then soon after that I'll have another new address when we get 911 service, and all without moving an inch.

I hope you all have cable or such to watch TNT. This month was "The Buffalo Soldiers", next month is "Two for Texas" about the Alamo. The "Buffalo Soldiers" was really pretty good action, although for the story they had to capture Nana, which really didn't happen until 1896, Victoria was still alive but he really had died, but not in the movie, and Nana led the raid with the cavalry following them for 3,000 miles. See issue 101 for the book review of Nana's Raid from the U of Texas at El Paso press.

Regardless of the inaccuracies it was still a good story, heck when did the Duke have a real story that wasn't changed some.

I keep meaning to include an article on German SE African uniforms, I went back to the library to get some further information but as yet I have not found anything more than the Knotel prints. Should this be all I have it will appear next issue no matter what. Look forward to the uniforms next issue.

HAPPY Holidays, and support those who help others.
