Once again it is time to play catch-up with the Classical Hack News Letter. It was with great regret that I had to cancel my Classical Hack games at Cold Wars 2005. It was a first for me to miss putting on games in more than a decade at Cold Wars. In a sense I suppose this is a historical event which cannot go without mentioning. We do what we can, when we can and it was my luck to put my back out about a week before Cold Wars! A real hack in the back like I have seldom suffered before. It is all history now and hopefully all my back problems are behind me. As I write this it is June. My back injury unfortunately left me little in the way of focusing on my duties with things like the painting figures, preparing games or the concentration it takes to do the writing for the Classical Hack News Letter. Fortunately Mark and James came through as usual and at least we had a presence. This ends the pity party. There are no words to express my appreciation to you both! In any case I am recovered and have put out the call to arms for Historicon. For Historicon Mark Zaslavsky and Frank Sciulli have both offered to put on games. I will be test playing Knight Hack and playing Homeric Hack. More on these games next month. David Crowell hosted a Homeric Hack game (Anger of Achilles) at Cangames in May. While I did briefly attend Cold Wars I did not have the power to get round much but I was happy to give some prizes out at the games. If I missed anyone putting on a game let me know and I will be sure to correct this in the future. Should you wish to host a game at a local convention or event let me know and I will assist you in your event with prizes and such. Why should you enter upon such a rigorous thing as putting on an event? Simply, it grows the hobby and your game master skills. With Cold Wars behind us now we are looking forward to first Origins and then Historicon. Both are important events and there will be plenty of Hack games so please visit either or both of these conventions and join in the fun.
