The Classical Hack News Letter staff (that's me and Lynne) hope you found the Yule Tide Season a joyous time. A time at which we take stock of our blessings. The year began with my right arm almost paralyzed, missing Siege of Augusta for the first time in 10 years. Our van died of transmissionitis just as Russ and Sue Lockwood were driving up for a holiday dinner. Lynne came down with a truly bizarre illness on New's Eve. In June the remaining car broke down on the way to Origins. August saw the on set and wrath of kidney stones for me. In October Lynne's mother died. In California we opened our boxes of figures for the show and found most of the chariots had been smashed. The city of Troy arrived in California missing pieces. In December a car accident, that completely totaled the car, leaving me much like the chariots, wheelless. Today I am still a captive of the Corporate Communists. The van had served us well for six years and it was time to let go. My arm problems and Lynne's medical condition both cleared up in March. We had a great time at dinner with Russ and Sue, even had beer for Russ. We were invited to Warfair in Atlanta making up for Augusta. In Atlanta we got to visit the Stevens' of Miniature Building Authority fame and to see many old friends. We also met Scott Monsour author of Rally Round the Flag. We had a great time at Origins; arriving a day late, we still got to put on games as well as seminars for the War College. At Historicon Norbert and Mark put on two great Classical Hack games, thanks guys. We got to spend time with Paul and Dee Forgette, making this Lancaster a great time. Having a gay old time eating out! Returning from Historicon I managed to work out the stones ofAugust and the first Classical Hack News Letter. Before we knew it, it was time to get ready for the Fall Campaign and the second news letter. As September was drawing to a close Lynne's Mother was failing. Fortunately Lynne has a supportive family. When we think of Muriel, Lynne's Mother, we have many rich and happy things to remember. She passed in October. Fall Campaign was a very delightful time. Homeric Hack went well and we were able to rebuild parts of the city lost in transit with no one was the wiser. The smashed chariots are repaired. Marcelo was a big help and the Pacific Southwest guys were attentive hosts. Prior to leaving for the coast we were invited to Washington D.C. The trip and seminar went extremely well as you read in last month's news letter. We made new friends there, Ambassador Atallah, Fred and Gail Hubig and Melody Curtise. Troy was rebuilt with the help of Lynne; finished just in time for Fall In!. The missing pieces turned up at Marcelo's round this time too. On returning I finished and mailed the last October Classical Hack News Letter. We got some nice comments from readers. George Bush was reelected! The accident was not my fault and more importantly I walked away from it in one piece. The car had 216,000 convention miles on it. If the car just worn out I would have gotten nothing. We now have two replacement vans. As for those Corporate Communists, 22 months before I can retire. What a year! As gaming pilgrims we will continue Hacking all the way counting our blessings as we go!
