Origins 2004 saw the introduction to the general public Homeric Hack: Warfare in the Time of Heroes. The presentation of the citadel at Troy, circa 1184 B.C. and the Achaean camp with the infamous Black Ships were the dioramic tools we used. At Origins we also introduced a new method to our gaming madness: seminars on the Trojan War Period. These were Sponsored by The H.O.T. War College. Origins is visited by an estimated 10,000 people. We had first test played Homeric Hack and displayed Troy’s citadel and the Achaean camp at Atlanta’s Warfair Convention, to a considerably smaller convention attendance.Siege of Troy was the featured event. Many thanks to Warfair Staff for such an important honor. If you are in the Atlanta area this is a convention to watch. No doubt one day it will grow to its full potential. One of the great things about attending conventions big and small is the people you meet and the great times you can have through interacting with others. Great times include great things that can come from attending conventions. At Origins Mike Cosentino introduced himself to me. Mike is an Associate Editor with NWAN Magazine, an important trade journal in the gaming world. Our Troy Scenarios inspired him to ask if we could send him some photos of our event. I answered, “YES! Everything on our site you might find of interest can be freely used with proper credits given.” Sure enough within a month what do I see? MWAN Magazine Number 130 with my model of Saguntum used at Cold Wars 2002. What a great experience. Thank you MWAN.
