Green Knight Publishing has commissioned two fine fellows to divide up the work and carry us further in our adventures. Jim Lowder has been selected as the Executive Editor for the Pendragon Fiction™ product line, and Roderick Robertson has been selected to be the Product Developer for the King Arthur Pendragon™ roleplaying line. Jim Lowder has worked in publishing on both sides of the editorial blotter for more than a dozen years, including stints as fiction editor for the short-lived "Troll" magazine, line editor for the popular "Ravenloft" and "Forgotten Realms" shared world series, and editor for the most successful releases in TSR's creator-owned imprint. Lowder also edited two fantasy anthologies ("Realms of Valor" and "Realms of Infamy"), and is the author of several best-selling novels, a dozen published short works, comics, book reviews, and SF and fantasy films essays. "I plan on bringing the Green Knight fiction schedule up to four releases a year as quickly as possible," Jim says, "The line will have room for both reprints and new projects relating to the Matter of Britain." He will be collaborating with Dr. Raymond H. Thompson, who continues his involvement as series editor, contributing his wealth of experience and credentials to identify and introduce (or reintroduce) the best works of Arthurian fiction to our readers. Jim holds signifcant credendials himself, including a BA in English and History from Marquette University and an MA in English from the University of Wisconsin. Jim will be based out of his home in Wisconsin. Roderick Robertson has been involved with Pendragon since its inception, as playtester of the original edition, contributing author for "Beyond the Wall" and "Pagan Shore," editor of "Land of Giants," patron-of-the-arts for the reprint of "Boy King", and now Line Developer for the King Arthur Pendragon roleplaying game . He authored the upcoming supplement, "Saxons! Wolves in the Fold of Arthur's Britain," due out this summer. Roderick's other roleplaying experience includes Issaries' world of Glorantha, Ars Magica (for three of its four publishers: White Wolf, Wizards of the Coast, and now Atlas Games). He has also worked as a roustabout for a very large chip maker in Silicon Valley. Roderick is on the organizing committee for Dundracon, the longest-running gaming convention in the San Francisco Bay Area, and loves teaching and participating in Victorian ballroom dance. Roderick lives in California with his lovely wife, and their menagerie of three dogs, three cats, five birds, and one bunny. Both Jim and Roderick officially began their respective assignments as independent contractors for Green Knight Publishing starting June 15, 1999. This arrangement enables them to still pursue their respective interests with other product lines and opportunities, while ensuring development and delivery for Green Knight projects and products. I've personally enjoyed working closely with both of these gentlemen in establishing the new business model and handing over to them the current works-in-progress. Under their stewardship I am sure Green Knight will further establish the best Arthurian arts and entertainments product lines available in print. As a team, we are in process of preparing Submission Guidelines for fiction, roleplaying, and art works which will be published in July. As well, I am working on getting official email addresses for both fellows at "greenknight.com". For now, Contact Us at gawaine@greenknight.com for direct correspondence. For myself, I will continue to act as principal and capital behind the company. Much of my time will be spent focusing on more strategic opportunities, providing high-level vision and direction. Although I still reserve the final say on certain minutiae, such as diving down into highly esoteric discussions about Mithraic religions on the Pendragon newsgroup, the products and operations themselves will be in the hands of Jim and Roderick. I am glad to no longer be "on the critical path" for day-to-day responsibilities and editorial (and I'm sure there is great rejoicing from freelancers and minstrels everywhere). Please join me in lending your support and congratulations, and keep your suggestions and submissions coming, to both Roderick and Jim.
