King Arthur Pendragon Faire

by Peter Corless

Okay, so, we've put out two books and two t-shirt products. Neil Laughlin ran a very wonderful LARP, followed up by our first international run by Alex Ferguson in Ireland. Green Knight was represented at a number of trade shows and events. What else is there to do? Hmmm. Remember how I spoke about ideas for licensing a while back?

How about branch out into a completely new format of live entertainment?

This summer, the Oklahoma Renaissance Festival/Works 'N Progress, under license from, and in conjunction with Green Knight Publishing, will present the first ever worldwide presentation of the "King Arthur Pendragon Faire!"

There will be dozens of actors playing the characters of the Arthurian legends. The Knights of the Round Table, Ladies of the Lake, Morgan le Fay, Merlin, Lancelot, Arthur and Guenevere, and Gawaine, of course. Even the dastardly King Mark will be skulking about (boo! hiss!), trying to upset the bliss of Tristram & Isolde. All lords and ladies of great repute will be in attendance, and you too are invited to this grand event!

It will be an outdoor weekend-long event, July 24-25, and again July 31 and August 1, 1999. Food, drink, music, fashion, and all the typical attractions of a period faire will be there.

The unique nature of this faire is the story and performances, which will be adapted directly from "King Arthur Pendragon," and all the works of the roleplaying game, including "Boy King," and so on.

Green Knight has a tent/booth at the event, where we hope to sell lots of books and games to people who never realized the existance of the product line.

More details, including location, directions, details and cost, will be made available in a future bulletin. However, I was so excited by this new venture I just couldn't wait to tell you all. We're hoping to get thousands, if not tens of thousands of people, to be attendees for our first-annual event.

I believe it will be a unique event in North America. Certainly let me know if you have heard of anything similar being attempted before.
