Month in Reviews

by Peter Corless

To all lords and ladies of Arthur's realm!

As some of you know, I am also the President and Chairman of a non-profit corporation, "Celebrate History" (http://www.celebratehistory.org). Between that office, and my job at the ever-benificent and lucrative Cisco Systems, I found I had little time left to manage the day-to-day affairs of "Green Knight Publishing."

Month-to-month? Barely. But not day-to-day.

In the time between Christmas and the end of April, while Celebrate History was in full-swing, Green Knight did manage quite a few tricks, yet had a few setbacks. I wanted to share progress with you all. Some people may have heard of these, but I wanted to have them all listed at a go in the first "official" newsletter of the year:

  • In January, we did indeed publish Arthur, the Bear of Britain. Thanks to all who ordered a copy. Please order it for yourself or a friend. It's a wonderful read!

  • In February, at Dundracon in the San Francisco Bay Area, Green Knight Publishing hosted a series of roleplaying adventures and seminars for King Arthur Pendragon, and indeed we had a weekend-long "Pendragon Room" at our disposal. Roderick Robertson presented a seminar on "Saxons in Pendragon," and we also had a "Green Knight Presents" update on where we were as a company.

  • In March, Pete went insane preparing for "Celebrate History 1999." However, in between fits of madness, somehow, "Lordly Domains" was put back in print!

(It still *says* it's out-of-print on the Chaosium site, but don't believe it! We have many copies of this long-sought-after supplement handy. Pressure your local retailer, or call Wizard's Attic to order yours today!)

  • In April, Green Knight Publishing had a presence at "Celebrate History" where we presented the more historical aspects of the game. Charlie Krank, of Chaosium, was kind enough to teach kids about jousting and chivalry using beautifully-painted miniatures at the "Education Day" event on Friday. Eric Rowe rallied a crew to man the booth which had scant sales, but good personal response. Right now, it's all in the name of building "Brand Equity."

T-Shirts

Speaking of which, also at the show, we previewed new products: T-Shirts! Yes, that's right fans: you can now order your very own, and quite stylish "Green Knight Publishing" and "King Arthur Pendragon" t-shirts.

    Pendragon T-Shirt (#GK2801, $15.00)
Proudly wear the heraldic symbol of King Arthur Pendragon, ruler of all Britain. This white t-shirt features Arthur's blue shield with three gold crowns.

    Green Knight T-Shirt (#GK2802, $15.00)

Can you believe it? Two print products already, and new garments for any good knight or lady's wardrobe. What could be next?
