Unfortunately, or fortunately, as you wish to look at it, the reality of the world is I have a full-time job at Cisco Systems. I wanted to found Green Knight to carry on the august traditions of "King Arthur Pendragon," yet I recognize that I do not have to "run" Green Knight personally on all projects. I would be insane to leave Cisco when it is my Silicon Valley salary and benefits that affords me the luxury to dabble in the fine and high art of game and book production. It would also be folly to try to sustain this uneasy balance with an ever-increasing amount of product coming down the pike, or take on both as full-time commitments! I've thought of many options and alternatives: how could I balance the needs of this brand-new nascent publishing company with the Silicon Valley slave labor contract -- er -- work ethic. I figured there was only one to get way out of this predicament: "singing!" Um, maybe there was another way. Oh yes! I remember: "hire someone." Something Eric Rowe has been reminding me of since the winter. However, with Celebrate History, I had no time to properly set up interviews, think about budget and salary, etc. Now with CH1999 behind me, it's time to start thinking about uniting my "virtual staff" of freelancers through the position of one lucky (unfortunate?) person who gets to coordinate all the production line work. I need a Line Developer! Job Opening, Immediate AvailabilityPosition: Product Line Manager for "King Arthur Pendragon™" series of adventure games and "Pendragon Fiction™" books. Seeking energetic, self-motivated, organized individual to plan, develop, and implement the production and operations of all aspects of a small publishing company product line. Work with business owner, external partners and customers, and represent company in industry. The full text of the job posting is here, along with information on how to contact me formally with resume: I sent out this to the "Arthurnet" and "Pendragon" mailing lists, as well as to a private list for roleplaying industry professionals. If you know of anyone suitably qualified and available, I would appreciate it if you passed on this message. Even in the last day or so since it went out, I've heard from a good number of people interested. If I do hire someone by the time you read this, don't despair -- hopefully we'll be successful enough over the coming year, we can even hire "employee #2". I'll keep your resumes on file. ;-) Well, that would nicely take care of the "print publishing" business. It doesn't put anything in place for other formats or other media. However, the Green Knight has not been idle in these other media. No sir...
