Sign up now for the first world-wide run of Pendragon Live Action Roleplaying! The King of the Wood
for 25 characters, lasting 8 hours. January 23, 1999 in the Cookhouse at Joseph D. Grant Park in San Jose, CA "Hear-ye! Hear-ye!" the heralds cry. Lady Fiona of Arden has called for knights of King Arthur's realm to compete in a tournament, the winner of which shall gain the prize and the title of "King of the Woods." Who will attend? Oh, surely the best knights of the realm. Gawaine and his younger brother Mordred, their mother Queen Margawse, and Queen Guenevere are openly in attendance. But who are all those knights in disguise? Who are the ladies behind their wimples and scarves? Rumors abound, and mystery surrounds the event. Surely this will be a grand adventure! "The King of the Woods" is a Live-Action Role-Playing Adventure for 25 characters, presented by Peter Corless of Green Knight Publishing and Neil Laughlin. It will be run on January 23, 1999 in the Cookhouse at Joseph D. Grant Park in San Jose, CA. Character packets will be available for pickup at 9:00 am; the game itself will begin at 10:00 am and end at 5:00 pm at the latest. Bringing a picnic lunch is strongly recommended, as the park is fairly remote! The site itself is indoors, though, and shielded from inclement weather. Joseph D. Grant Park is located on Mt. Hamilton Road in the Halls Valley, just east of the larger Santa Clara Valley. Travel to the park by taking Highway 101 or Highway 680 to Alum Rock Avenue eastbound in San Jose. Turn right onto Mt. Hamilton Road and travel eight miles to reach the park entrance. An Irish Debut?"King of the Woods" is also planned to be run in Ireland by Alex Ferguson, perhaps as early as WarpCon (http://www.warpcon.org/). Check there for late-breaking news (http://www.warpcon.org/larps.htm), or contact Alex Ferguson directly for updates (abf@cs.ucc.ie).
