Peter Rossi of Stackpole Books recently queried how Lionel Leventhal came to be on the Board of the Literacy Volunteers of America. This was news to us, was queried with them and the result was the discovery of another Lionel Leventhal. The biography of the alternate Lionel Leventhal, which appears in the Annual Report for the Literacy Volunteers of America, says: "Lionel is currently an Investment Strategist with Golob Associates in New York. He was formerly a strategic analyst at Bain & Company, where he became involved with LVA and literacy in 1995." In information put out by Lionel Leventhal's venture capital company it reports on him saying: "LIONEL LEVENTHAL Vice president. Mr. Leventhal assists portfolio companies on operational matters and works on new investments. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Leventhal worked for Bain & Company on marketing, operations and general strategy assignments. Prior to Bain & Company, he worked at Prospect Industries, a manufacturer of steel containers. Mr. Leventhal received his MBA with distinction from Harvard Business School and was graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College." The two Lionel Leventhals are not related but last month, when our Lionel Leventhal was in New York, a meeting was arranged and here is a photograph of the two together.
