Battlefields Review is a new bi-monthly magazine for people who, the publishers say, 'enjoy exploring battlefields world-wide'. Battlefields Review will be published by Wharncliffe, whose name will be familiar to many as associated with Pen & Sword Books and the publishers of the PALS Series. The new magazine will be high quality, and cover a broad range of topics associated with the history of battles and the ground over which they were fought. It will be edited by Kelvin Van Hasselt, a trustee of the Battlefields Trust and a member of the English Heritage Battlefields panel. Contributors will include Prof. Ian Beckett, Prof. Jeremy Black, Corelli Barnett, Nigel Cave, David Chandler, Dr Anne Curry, Robert Hardy MBE, Christopher Hibbert, Richard Holmes, Tonie and Valmai Holt, John Keegan, Dr David Smurthwaite, and John Terraine. Battlefields Review will be available alternate months from May (the first issue is now available), by subscription only. The second new magazine is Revival, which also will be high quality, full colour, and glossy, dedicated to re-enactment and living history. It also has just been launched, coming from Yorkshire Post Magazine. Obviously military history is alive and well in Yorkshire, for both these new magazines are being published there (and also the new blockbuster show Buffalo Bill's Wild West will commence at the Royal Armouries, Leeds, at the end of May).
