30 years

One of the side effects of a long career in publishing is that anniversaries start to occur, with round figures or the figure '5'. The next 3 years will see quite a number of these for LL. 1999 brings:

  • 15 years since the publication of the first Greenhill book, following the sale of Arms & Armour Press (October 1984)
  • 15 years since founding the Military Book Show in the United States (May 1984, Washington DC)
  • 35 years since joining Paul Hamlyn, second job in publishing (Spring 1964)
  • 40 years since first visit to Frankfurt Book Fair (October 1959)
  • 45 years in the book trade, and first job in a bookshop (Spring 1954)
