The Royal Armouries Museum will be presenting a 'blockbuster' exhibition based on Buffalo Bill and the Wild West at the new £40 million 6-storey site in Leeds, and this show will then travel to the Autry Museum of Western Heritage (Los Angeles), the National Cowboy Hall of Fame and Heritage Center (Oklahoma City), the Tennessee State Museum (Nashville) and, possibly, a site in New York City. The Royal Armouries will be the prime sponsor, and have indicated they will open the show in the summer of 1999, with a Hollywood celebrity to cut the ribbon. The show will spend approximately three months at each site, spread over two years. Nearly everything in the travelling exhibition will also be appearing in the book Buffalo Bill and the Wild West, published by Greenhill in January.
