This table presumes that the target is at least trying not to be seen. Range d6 Score 100m 2+ 200m 3+ 300m 4+ 400m 5+ 500m 6+ Modifiers: Unsuspecting Target +2 Very Flat Terrain +2 Spotters are : FOO`s, OP`s, S.Forces +2 Spotters are : FOO`s, OP`s, S.Forces +2 Good Camo - 1 Well Concealed - 2 Sneaky, such as : VC Sappers, Sniper - 2 Spotters are Lazy, Overconfident etc - 1 Moving Fast - 2 A successful roll means that the target is acquired and aimed fire can be brought to bear. What if you think something is out there but miss the die roll ? Tough ! This should encourage good players to set up OP`s where he thinks there is a danger, thus detaching vital troops from his main force and getting everyone in a real mess, strung out, waiting for the ambush.......... Add your own plusses and minuses depending upon the period and rules you commonly play. The above are just to get some ideas going - so what do ya think?
