David Shaman, a 19-year-old mathematics major at the University of Pennsylvania, recently won the ninth annual U.S. Othello Championship in Alexandria, VA. He represented the United States in the International Othello Championship in Athens, Greece last November.

Simulations Canada recently announced future game releases. West Front, a board game, covers World War II from the Italian or D-Day landings to the wax's end. A strategic game of moderate complexity, West Front can be played by itself or combined with Lebensraum! Hurricane! which deals with the Battle of Britain, is the next computer gaine to be released.

Early next year, Simulations Canada plans to release Ship of the Line board game, which covers the period 1650-1700. This release will be accompanied by the computer game Seventh Fleet, with which Bill Nichols will extend his Fifth Eskadra system to the current situation in the Pacific Ocean.

Sieg in Africa game players take note - there are several counters which have the wrong set-up locations printed on them, according the The Simcan Newsletter # 14, a publication of Simulations Canada. There are also several translation errors in the Apple version of this game which can affect play. If you have an Apple version and are unhappy with it, return the original disk for replacement. Hockey fans can now enjoy International Hockey on their Commodore 64 and 128 computers. A sequel to Slapshot Hockey from Artworx Software Company, Inc., International Hockey has additional features. The user can now play directly against the computer by selecting the one-player mode which offers three levels of proficiency. Price: $24.95.

Lost Worlds now has 12 scenarios, that enable characters to engage in swordplay. Nova Game Designs Inc. recently released The Lost Worlds Adventure Set, In the Ruins of the Ancients, which gives players a threedimensional setting of an ancient and abandoned wizard's castle in which to meet their opponents. In addition to movement and jumping rules, the set also contains eight lead miniatures from Ral Partha Enterprises. The terrain, which is made of styrene plastic, and the miniatures axe both suitable for painting.

Twilight 2000 players can look forward to many new products from Game Designers' Workshop. The Black Madonna of Poland will set characters up against the mad Maxkgraf of Silesia. The release of this adventure will coincide with that of the U.S. Army Vehicle Guide. The Going Home adventure is also in the works. A complete line of miniatures for Twilight 2000 will soon be available from Grenadier Models Inc. Since the figures are 20mm (HO scale) players can use Roco Minitanks, MPC modern JS and Soviet infantry, and all the HO scale terrain and vehicles already available.

You could learn to fly if you win the "Great American Learn to Fly a Real Airplane" contest which is sponsored by Microprose Software, Inc. and Cessna Aircraft Company. The contest will enable thousands of customers to experience their first airplane ride and a few winners to earn their pilot's license or fly an airplane solo. A "Discovery Flight" coupon for taking a first real airplane ride is available in the following Microprose Software Inc. game boxes: F-15 Strike Eagle, Solo Flight, Kennedy Approach, and AcroJet.

Milton Bradley Company recently purchased A Question of Scruples board game from High Game Enterprises of Winnipeg, Canada and Maruca Industries of New York City. A game that poses questions about modern moral dilemmas, A Question of Scruples retails for under $20.00.

Superheroes fans watch out for new figures from Grenadier Models Inc. for Mayfair Games Inc.'s DC Heroes role-playing game.

Frontier Miniatures recently obtained the license rights for a figures line for Fantasy Games Unlimited's Flashing Blades and Mad Dogs and Englishmen role-playing games.

Quarterdeck Games recently announced that the following titles are out-ofprint: Destroyer Captain, Grant Moves South, and Ironbottom Sound. Although Bitter End and Pacific Fleet are also out-of-print, the games may be reprinted this spring.

Clash of Wills computer game from DKC Games is now available for Commodore-64 computers.
