Industry News 1986

Contributions totaling over $25,000 have been made to the Raymond P Wagner Fund, which was established by the Toy Manufacturers of America, Inc. in honor of the late industry leader who died last February during the Toy Fair. Those who wish to contribute to the fund should contact Doug Thomson, Toy Manufacturers of America, Inc., 200 Fifth Ave., New York, NY 10010, (212) 675-1141.

A special tribute is planned for Mr. Wagner when he and several other deceased industry leaders are inducted into the Toy Industry Hall of Fame on February 15,1986.

Clash of Arms Games has signed a contract with Kevin Zucker to design four games. Zucker's previous design credits include Napoleon's Last Battles, SPI/TSR Inc. Arcola/Battle for Italy, Battle of the 100 Days, Bonaparte in Italy, Battle of Nations, Napoleon at Bay, all for Operational Studies Group, currently by The Avalon Hill Game Co.; and 1809 for Victory Games Inc. Planned titles include: Napoleon in Poland, covering the battles of Pultask, Eylau, and the Freidland campaign, Nov. 1806 to July 1807, using the Napoleon at Bay system. Also, The Emperor Returns, covering the 1815 Campaign. Two more titles are still to be decided.

Ed Hannigan whose cover art can be seen on Mayfair Games Inc.'s DC Heroes modules Siege, Blood Feud and Batman has been named Cover Editor at DC Comics. The folks at DC Comics were so pleased with the Teen Titans Tower designed by Mayfair Games Inc. that the designs will be used in the construction of the new Tower, according to a Marv Wolfman editorial in the New Teen Titans October 1985 issue.

Bob Schwartz of Games Unlimited, a retail store in Pittsburgh, PA has a weekly radio show on station WTKN. He talks about adult games and will be using the Bestsellers survey from GAME TRADE NEWS as part of his broadcasts.
