Free Twixt

Realtime Server

by David J. Bush

There is now a free realtime Twixt server at http://www. k2z.org/ Downloadable clients are available in Windows and Java versions.

Features include:
The pie rule (also known as the swap rule) is implemented
Automatic linking with an option to remove/rearrange links
Row handicapping is available
Different size grids are available from 12x12 to 24x24
Timed games (user-selectable time limit)
A rating system is in place
Chat window
Observe other players' games in progress
Save game and replay for discussion (limited post mortem)

More features are planned. But what K2z needs the most right now are players! I hope you can come and check it out! The K2z website also has a forum where players can arrange to meet, or discuss anything to do with Twixt.

If you prefer turn-based play to realtime, the Little Golem server is at http://www.littlegolem.net/ and PBMserv is at http://www.gamerz.net/pbmserv/ with a GUI front end at math.lsu.edu/~wamelen/gamerz.php
