The board is adequate for the price of the game. If you play any Columbia block games you won't have a problem with the board quality. The game plays similar to Granada by AP if you're familiar with that one. The critical aspect of this game is you can't afford to lose your leaders and wizards as they won't get replaced. It essentially a race game where you try to get the required items, reach the island, and free the princess before your opponent. At the same time, you'll be blocking and fighting your opponent to prevent him from doing the same. One army is stronger than the other in terms of manpower, but weaker on the magic front.
