"Break the Safe" is not a game for just adults, but if you throw in at least one kid, it's a lot of fun. It works well with two, three, or four players. As a family, we like this game a lot. It took us three tries to finally win. Since then the goal has been to improve on our best time. It has been a great game for my daughter to learn how one thing in a game can lead to another, different thing later in the game. It's been fun to watch her go from "How do we do solve this problem?" to "I know how to solve this problem - let me tell you what to do next". Games like this are exactly what can lead kids to enjoy meatier games after they grow up. I expect we'll play this quite a bit before we tire of it, because we can always try to beat our best time (otherwise, it would pale very quickly). It's one of those games where your response to finishing your first game is likely to be, "We can do better. Let's play again - right now!". You'll probably play again and again until you win. Then you might be able to put off winning by a wider margin until another day. To answer your questions, the components are excellent -well designed and very durable; and the game is fun, especially with kids! (A 6-year-old would definitely like this one. In fact, it may be essential to include a 6- to 8-year-old to really make this game shine for everyone involved.) Notes: 1) The rules are confusing. We had to mull over the rules a lot during the first game. If you interpret the rules in a "realistic" way, they work fine. 2) The one thing to watch out for is when your luck is too good. If things go too well in the first game you play, you're likely to think "that's all?". 3) The biggest hole in the rules has to do with exactly when a player is sent to Jail. From the start, we chose to make this as challenging as we could. We play that the guard sends people to jail whenever he has a direct line-of-sight -even in the middle of his move or a player's move. The same applies to the dog. If it's ever within 6 spaces of someone, even in the middle of a move, they go to jail. Back to Table of Contents -- Game! # 2 To Game!
