I enjoy playing Carcassonne (original & expansions) with 2 players, but found it lacking something. So we came up with the following variant, which I'd like people to comment on: You start by drawing 2 tiles from the bag...you must then play one of them...then your opponent gets to either a) play the other tile you drew or b) throw it back into the bag and pick two new ones..then, after he plays one of those you get to do a) or b) as above. When someone does play the second tile his opponent drew, the other player picks two tiles again as at the beginning. We have found this adds a little extra level of thinking..do you play the tile you can really use if the other one gives your opponent a very good or better play...or do you play the tile of lesser use to you to deny your opponent a big play. We only play this way with 2 players. Related Back to Table of Contents -- Game! # 2 To Game! List of Issues To MagWeb Master Magazine List © Copyright 2004 by George Phillies.
