King's College

War Studies Program

by Philip Sabin

As you may remember from last year, I run an MA course on Conflict Simulation as part of our Masters degrees at the Department of War Studies, King's College London. This year's students have just completed their draft simulations, and we have now posted complete Cyberboard versions of these on the course website (along with my own new sim of the Second World War) for free download.

As before, we are encouraging as many people as possible to download whichever sims are of interest, and to provide comments to help the designers as they prepare their final versions. We have a special yahoo discussion site for this purpose.

Time is tight, since the deadline for project submission is March 24th. I would be very grateful if you could publicise this as quickly and as prominently as possible, to aid in this path-breaking marriage between conflict simulation and academic study. The revised sims will be posted on the website after submission, as an added payback to the simulation community. Two of last year's sims have now been accepted for publication in commercial sim journals, illustrating the quality of what has been produced.

Please link to the course website itself, and not to individual sims. Please also feel free to spread the word to other sim websites, on the same basis. The address is http://www.kcl.ac.uk/depsta/wsg/consim.html. Many thanks in advance for your help.
