I have two methods for stripping painted figures. If you have just a few and hate to wait, use spray-on oven cleaner (I use the Off! brand). Give 'em a good dose, let sit for 20 minutes, then rinse. Use an old toothbrush and over 90% of the paint will come off. You can pick out the crevices with a tooth-pick. Wash and paint!
