Greetings to the November 2004 issue of Game! The International Gamer Magazine. We hope you enjoyed our essay into the realm of fiction in the last issue. For those of you who were curious, the ‘brigand’ army was a 1630-period French Army using processional deployment and period weapons, weapons effectiveness based on the books of Nosworthy. This issue is being brought to press at the end of November, and should be emailed to regular subscribers soon thereafter. There is a collision between the reasonable press dates of the December issue and my travel plans; the December 2004 issue of this magazine my appear in early January. We are approaching the end of Patrick Condray’s list of game and Hobby Stores. While that list will by and by be updated and re-issued, we may first begin to bring out material for the forthcoming book “The Collector Supreme’s Own Board Wargames of the Second Millennium”. We may also be presenting material from the forthcoming “The Collector Supreme’s Own Board Wargames of 1995-1999” which is now in the final preparatory stages. The possibility that we will publish some of our own games in the near future has arisen. There finally appear to be electronic tools suitable for generating adequate electronic maps, such as Cyberboard, though in fairness I am not a computer jock and have not yet installed it successfully on this machine. I have a stock of board wargames sitting here waiting for me to write their reviews. A lot? I guess ’a lot’ is a matter of taste, as to how many a lot is, but it is about a cubic yard of them. Expect those to appear no sooner than the January issue. We continue to search for new writers, who on the positive side are not expected to share our losses in producing Game! In other news notes, the magazine I had previously edited, Strategist, has just published its second issue of the year and appears to be back to regular publication. Finally, an apology. In the previous issue, the article on Winds of Plunder, Santiago, Favoriten, and Die Schlacht der Dinosaurier was by Susan Rozmiarek. Back to Table of Contents -- Game! # 11 To Game!
