I have just returned from a pre-opening visit to the new FIREPOWER Museum in Woolwich. The museum is opening its doors to the paying public on 27th May, and it is dedicated to tracing the history of the Royal Artillery and the role and development of artillery. The museum is very well laid out, with lots of exhibits that you can get very close to. Having visited many different military museums over the years, I can say with some confidence that this is the best yet for all-round value and information. There is plenty of space to get round, although there is no shortage of exhibits. The captioning is excellent, and the staff is efficient, well-trained, and very helpful.
