Before the spring offensive Italy 45 ; the unit was made up of Regt HQ , A , B & C squadrons . Each had a squadron HQ with 4 shermans , and 4 troops - each troop having 3 Shermans . After March 1945 the unit had each squadron hq had 3 Shermans - 2 M4a1 with long 76mm , and 1 105mm howitzer armed version . Troops 1 , 2 & 3 had 3 Shermans each - M4a1 with long 76mm , troop 4 had 3 Sherman Fireflies with the 17pdr.
