Goodwin's article in TEM #30 on adapting Map 35 for play in 1941-44. However, the issue of the A weather line needs to be addressed: Simply consider the A weather line from Map 35 to run directly east along the 6A:45xx hex row until it meets up with the printed weather line on Map 6A. Rules Modifications:Add to Scorched Earth Rule 32B - Finland. 5. Finnish Woodsmanship. When at least one half of the REs attacking into wooded terrain (woods, forest, wooded rough, wooded swamp, and wooded intermittent lake hexes) are Finnish non-c/m units, the combat resolution die roll is modified by +1. The REs of attacking artillery units are not counted for this calculation. If this special ability is used, then required losses (see Rule 9J) are incurred by the Finnish nonc/m units. 6. Finnish Coastal Defenses. Due to Finnish coastal defenses, no Soviet amphibious landings may be made in Finnish-owned hexes in Finland. If the Finnish player owns Sortavala (35:4211 or 2A:0128), no Soviet amphibious landings may be made in Finnish-owned hexes along the coast of Lake Ladoga. If the Finnish player owns Petrozavodsk (35:4305 or 2A:0221), no Soviet amphibious landings may be made in Finnish-owned hexes along the coast of Lake Onega. Finland may deactivate the coast defenses of Onega or Ladoga, provided certain cities are Finnish-owned, and receive the indicated units (see conditional reinforcements). If a defense is deactivated, the Soviet player may make amphibious landings in Finnish-owned hexes along the coast of that lake.
