Scorched Earth won the Origins Award for best board game published in 1987 in its category (period 1900-1946). The Origins Awards ceremony was held 20 August 1988 during Gen Con/Origins in Milwaukee, WI. GDW very graciously allowed John Astell to receive the award. It would be fitting, therefore, to review the names of those people who made Scorched Earth the winner that it is.
