Scenario Odds and Ends

Operation Crusader (TEM #31)

by Frank E. Watson

On its return from Greece, the remnants of British 1st Armoured Brigade temporarily turned into a training organization for replacements arriving in Egypt and destined for active brigades. It remained in this role until the middle of 1942, when it was reconstituted into an active unit. I purposely left the brigade out of the "Operation Crusader" battle scenario, but then incorrectly added it back to the campaign scenario in the scrapped" heap.

On the Operation Crusader Campaign Game Allied Initial Forces, move the British Ix 3-2-10 Arm X I from the :'Units previously scrapped" box to the 'Western Desert Replacement Pool."

You're on your own whether to add 1st Armoured Brigade to the battle scenario's Allied replacement pool. My opinion is still to leave it out of the battle scenario. If you think everything in a battle scenario should balance with the campaign game, then add it. If you think a battle scenario should reflect the actual situation, then leave it out and consider the brigade busy training the two available armoured replacement points.
