Issue # 37 We are returning to Africa for one last safari before entering winter quarters to await the new Collector Series edition of War in the Desert. TEM #37 will feature the second edition of "Kasserine Crisis," using Second Front map 27. Also featured will be "Cunningham's Pond," a simple module to add some naval chrome to War in the Desert. Additionally, the first wave of Second Front designer's notes are scheduled to hit the beach, and there will be A Winter War special feature that you will not want to miss. And much more... Coming Attractions A Double Issue! Issues # 38 and # 39 will be combined in order to provide the necessary page count to produce our biggest magazine project to date-Stage I of Grand Europa, the 1943 Linking Scenario. The biggest official monster match yet, this scenario will cover the entire war in Europe starting on Jul 143. Made possible by the arrival of Second Front, players will finally have a chance to save or savage the Third Reich while waging the war in Europe on all fronts. It is unclear at this time whether we will have room for anything else in this double issue, but if room permits we will also include new installments of our regular features. Europa Scenario Lineup Europa scenarios in planning or development include: "Eve of Destruction" by Combined Arms editor Flavio Carrillo covers Operation Typhoon, the German drive to Moscow in late 1941. The scenario begins with the Vyazma-Bryansk encirclements in October and ends with the Soviet counterattack in December. Jason Long's "Arctic Thunderbolt" postulates a 1943 invasion of Norway by the Western Allies. This scenario will be the first of a projected 3-part series of hypothetical Allied campaigns against the hard head (as opposed to soft underbelly) of Festung Europa. Some of the less-used Europa maps and counters will finally get a decent workout. "Berlin: 1945", the end of the 1000-year Reich by Alan Tibbetts and Ray Kanarr. Extensive research continues on this difficult project. The publication of Second Front should help things along, and another major boost will occur when Charles Sharp completes his work on the 1945 Soviet Order of Battle sometime this summer. "Drive to the Meuse" is a Europa rendition of the Battle of the Bulge, on the same scale as the SPI game The Ardennes Offensive. We are planning to create two 11" x 17" maps, which together will cover the terrain from the Our River to the Meuse. Units will be primarily represented at regimental level, and each game turn will represent one day of real time. Special rules will cover the reduced map and time scale.
