Leningrad and Kiev

Training Exercise #1: Leningrad: 1941

Objective

Send in your favorite Soviet initial deployment for this scenario. Please specify if your deployment is for the 1st Edition of the scenario published in TEM # 21 or the 2nd Edition published in TEM # 30 (either is equally acceptable). Be sure to include placements for those Soviet forces and items that deploy after the Germans. Include a brief commentary explaining your deployment's goals (i.e., maximize German casualties. channel the German attack, and so on).

Training Exercise #2: The Battle for Kiev, 1943

Objective: Send in your favorite German initial deployment for this scenario. Please specify if your deployment relies on the suggested modifications published in TEM #33. page 38 (note, however, that use of these changes is not required). Include a brief commentary explaining your deployment goals (i.e. prevent a deep Soviet penetration. hold Kiev and so on).

Special Instructions:

1. You may send in an entry for either exercise, or both. However, we will accept only one entry per exercise per person.

2. You should only list deployment hexes for those units and items that are not predetermined by the Order of Battle.

3. If you wish to remain anonymous, just let us know. This will not in any way affect your ability to win the prizes offered.

Prizes

Two First Prizes

For the best deployment for L'.01 exercise (as chosen subjectively from all entries by Rick Gayler) GRD will award a $25 voucher good towards the purchase of any GRD merchandise.

Unlimited Second Prizes--To anyone who sends in a qualifiable entry for either exercise. GRD will award a $5 voucher good towards the purchase of any GRD merchandise. (You get $10 Voucher if you submit qualifiable entries for both exercises.) There are no losers in this contest

What does GRD out out of this? Our purpose is to generate plan-related material for the magazine.

All entries received will he subject to reprint in a future issue, along with some editorial commentary. Hovever, note that you may request to remain unnamed if your submission is used for this purpose. Send entries!
