Coming Attractions Next issue we will purge our backlog of EXchange material by featuring an expanded letters section. Also on tap is the second installment of Designer's Notes for A Winter War covering the Finnish Armed Forces. There will be a Balkan Front replay from John Astell and a detailed German attack plan for assaulting Fred Allen's Soviet deployment presented in TEMs #21 and #22. Jim Arnold's El Alamein scenario for TEM #28 continues the tradition of the Europa Battle Series, covering the Battle of El Alamein in a format playable on one map and in a single evening. This solitaire scenario breaks new ground with a number of experimental Designer's Choice rules, including a modified surprise attack turn (the "Offensive Phase") and a take- or hold-at-all-costs option (the "Major Effort" rule). Next issue will also mark the return of an old friend, the Second Front Newsletter. From now until completion, GR/D will provide continuous updates on the progress of Second Front, or Second Coming, as it has been fondly dubbed. There are still many miles to go, but the pieces are falling in place and there will be plenty of concrete information to pass along each issue. Scenario Update Several new projects have entered the planning or development stages for future magazine scenarios: "Operation Crusader", a Europa Battle Series scenario by Frank E. Watson. "Weserubung", a two-week turn Europa level treatment of Narvik by Mark Royer. "Berlin: 1945" - the end is near! A twinkle in the eye of Alan Tibbetts. "Edelweiss", the invasion of the Caucasus by Army Group "A", is an East Front scenario in the tradition of Leningrad. 1941. In preparation by Roy Lane and Trey Nelson.
