The next issue of the Europa magazine will be dedicated to Fire in the East/Scorched Earth. Based on feedback reports, these titles are the most popular and widely- played in the series. This interest translates into frequent SE articles received here at the editor's desk. We attempt to provide as broad a game coverage as possible in the magazine; but as a result this leads to an backlog of articles on the Eastern Front over the course of time. The solution to this, as I see it, is to clear out the pipeline every 12 months or so by publishing a FitE/SE theme issue. We will gauge your approval of this approach based on feedback received from issue #21. The highlight of issue #21 will be the Europa Battle Scenario #3, Leningrad 1941 from Victor Hauser and Frank Watson. For more information on this much- anticipated project, see the advertisement on page 9. There will also be an exploration of the Wallonien Legion by Derek Nelson, and a discussion of Axis and Soviet strategies for play of The Urals 1943 scenario by Jason Long and Joe Hayes respectively. The two team captains of Task Force Johnson will draw heavily on experience gained from frequent playings of the scenario in Europa demos over the last several years. Other attractions will include a number of Soviet deployments for SE, among them a complete Soviet June 1941 historical deployment provided by Charles Sharp. Louis Rotundo will also help players pinpoint the location of the Soviet fortified areas and provide a few surprises in the process. Don't miss it!
