The major news since TEN I is that John Astell has left GDW to return to his native state of Massachusetts. Nevertheless, John will continue on in the role of Mr. Europa, a position he has served expertly for the last nine years. We wish him all the best and would also like to express our gratitude for the excellent work he has done for the Europa community so far. TEN is still evolving as we afternately entertain the notions of swimming, crawling, walking, or flying. Hopefully the suckling stage (recognizable by the lack of proofreading) is behind us though we may yet be caught with our thumb (or foot) in our mouth. Of course, for TEN to properly mature it needs more contributors. I've received articles and/or promises from a handful of brave fellows responding to my first call for volunteers in TEN 0. This is now my second call for volunteers. Send your manuscripts or proposals to me in the near future and I'll add you to the contributors' ranks. If the ranks continue to remain thin, I'll institute the draft. TEN will soon add a new feature called "Home Front". This will be a platform for those who have cooked up rules to enhance Europa. Send me house rules that you and your friends have tested, and we'll publish them for all the members to see. Also, note the "Exchange" column in this issue. This will be a regular feature for those who have anything to ask or say to the EPA. So, between "Exchange", "Home Front", and regular articles, there's plenty of opportunity to write something of any length. Submissions should be typed or computer printed using a dark ribbon, double spaced, and sent to my address. All items published become the property of The Europa Newsletter.
