EuropaFest II

Progress Report

by Mark Swenholt

PROGRESS TO DATE

Work continues on the second Europafest. Key items of information can be found on the enclosed pre- registration form as to the day, date, time, place and cost of attending.

I have some people already preregistered using the form, but need some additional information that was not included in the last issue of the magazine. What is needed is knowledge of what event(s) you will be playing. This information can be provided on the new registration form in this issue of the magazine. We need it to plan out our space requirements.

You should note that there are now only 55 spaces left for the Europafest Dinner. It is first come, first served (pardon the pun) for this dinner.

How preregistration works: I enter the names, addresses, events you're playing, whether you're attending the banquet, etc. on my computer. I then pass everything to the DallasCon folks for entry into their database. You should get a card back from DallasCon confirming your pre-reg. Don't panic yet if you haven't seen a confirmation. This is a bit early for the normal DallasCon pre-reg. process. You should be getting something back by at least the end of June.

The first pre-reg. I got said "I want to play FitE/SE; I don't have a team." This reinforced a suspicion I had that we will need at least one 1. walk-on" FitE/SE. I will have one set up, but I am still counting on most events being arranged beforehand. I will be happy to coordinate the arranging of teams. On your pre-reg. specify the game of interest, whether you can bring a copy of the game for use, preferred scenario start date, preferred side, and when you will be available (Thursday night, Friday AM, Friday noon, etc.).

Above all, please bring games. We can sort out a hell of a lot of teams Thursday night in hotel rooms, or Friday morning, but we can't play if we don't have the games to play with.

The Thursday night access for set- up is not confirmed. We hope it will be available, but can not get the hotel to confirm for some time yet. A way to quickly get set up if Thursday night does not work out is to putty up the starting units as corps on the corps marker displays and use copies of the play aids kit maps to document the corps counters' locations for your initial setups.
