Welcome to the EPA. This is our first issue of the newsletter and I would like to address a couple of questions that some you have raised. People have asked, do we need another newsletter? For what we intend to do will will need a newsletter or some form of communication with our membership. The newsletter will be the method of letting you know what product are coming out and of keeping the contact list updated. We chose the newsletter format to keep the cost down. If we become filthy rich from this we will have nice Europa magazine someday, published from the Bahamas of course. Since we have tried to keep the quality as high a GDW's we have to keep all other expenses as low as possible. Items on the current working list: KIT SPAIN - This kit will contain 2 maps, Spat and the west half of France. It will have the usual air and rail distance charts, off map air display, maybe a port chart and WHAT-IF situation involving the Allied invasion of Spain. This what-if may seer silly at first glance, but think of the possible ramifications. The occupation of Franc would have been completed by Nazi Germany, so what would happen to the Vichy forces in Africa? The other possibilities are equally as Interesting. Spain could have petitioned Germany to assistance ... a second front would have taken place on the continent '42 ... Germany would have been stretched even thinner with the additional occupation requirements to keep the Allied forces a bay...and on and on. John Astell is finishing up the OB work. No counters will be made You will have to possess the games Western Desert, Torch & Fall of France and the Spain module to use the what-if in the kit. NO PASARAN counters - We have the stuff ready to go to our art director, John Greer, but before we get into the work we are going to have a firm cost figure. This should be ready in 60 to 90 days. If the cost is not prohibitive we will offer it to our EPA members and GR/D direct mail customers first with a special deal for the EPA members. It will be a PRE PUBLICATION OFFER. We will need to gel the bucks together to get the counters out, and this is an expensive venture ' so WE want to keep the cost to you as low as possible. We expect to sell 250 sets of Europa standard (type face and color Spanish Civil war counter,, for use with The Grenadier's No Pasaran. We have included current errata and the navies as published in Bill Stone's ETO. Only the counters will be published. You Will still have to get a copy of the game from The Grenadier and you must have the SPAIN & PORTUGAL module as well.
