Book ListReceived a book list from "Barbarossa Books", ( Russell Hadler ), the last one that was sent to me was about a year ago and that contained, I think, about 10 pages of books being mainly made up from his own collection. It just shows you what a year can do, Russell's latest list is 57 pages in length, two columns per page, with about 40 titles per page for sale, which is quite a lot of books etc. The vast majority of these titles relate to the 20th Century, A.F.V's, and Weapons as these subjects are the areas where Russell has his main interest, not much on Latin America, about 7 titles, the best one being "Chaco War, Bolivia and Paraguay 1932-1935" by B. Farcau, priced at £ 47.95, not an easily obtainable title over here, although I have reviewed it in a previous issue of E.D. Contact Russell at Barbarossa Books, West Beynon House, 242 High Street, Bromley, Kent, BR1 1PQ, if you require a copy of his latest list, it could be a good source for the North American buyer of British published books. Looking at what Russell has managed to do in so short a time gives me hope for "Moctezuma" and my book lists. Keep up the good work Russ. That reminds me, if you have not received a copy of the latest book list (No.3.) then please send in a self-addressed envelope, with stamp or international reply coupon, so that I can send you a copy. The address is: FROM THE SHELVES OF MOCTEZUMA ( Books from the Americas ), c/o Terry Hooker, 27 Hallgate, Cottingham, HU16 4DN. EAST YORKS. French Policy and the American Alliance of 1778Just received a copy of "French Policy and the American Alliance of 1778", by Edward S. Corwin, pub. Peter Smith, Clouster, Mass, U.S.A. 1969, 1st pub. by Princeton University Press 1916, normally I do not collect books that relate to the American War of Independence, but this one includes data on the Spanish foreign policy making of this period and it's outlook on Florida and the Caribbean islands, which is a topic that I do include in my list, no doubt there will be other newer books that cover these details but having read some of the pages the contents, for me, are helpful and readable.
