Received the first issue of "THE GAUNTLET" which is a quarlerly aimed at having a universal appeal that excludes no-one whilst paying special emphasis to the independent, self-reliant or solo wargamers, its editor and co-editor are both know in these circles in Scotland being Mark A. Hannam and Paul Burnell respectively, while the articles are written by wargamers for a readership of wargamers. The journal has 40 A5 size pages, a bit like "E.D.". If you happen to be a wargamer then send £ 2.00 or $7.00 for airmail to the U.S.A. to Paul for a sample copy and mention "E.D.", his address is; PAUL BURNELL, 15 Hollybank Terrace, Edinburgh, EH11 1SW. I found it a bit like Hal Thinglum's MWAN journal, with a editorial by both Mark and Paul which I thought was good, plus a number of articles, with rules etc. on various periods, hope the venture is a success. ...T.D.H.
