I normally type this section up first before going onto the main part of the text, this time I've typed up about 10 pages just to get into the swing and formulate where and what articles are going to be included, plus how many pages I have spare for illustrations etc. But before I can start planning in a serious way, the pile of books to my right need to be reviewed, so I had better get started on them soon. Being that it is May I will take this issue to notify, you the members, who I have chosen to be the Honorary Member for this year, most, if not all, will know his name and work, he is Colonel John R. Elting (U.S. Army Ret.). His articles in the Company of Military Historians with a Central American theme has included partners such as: Joseph Hefter, Eugene Leliepvre, Louis Merllie, Jose Cisneros have been an inspiration to myself from the first time that I was shown them many years ago back in the 60's by my colleague at Tradition, David Schienman, and he has managed to produce plates on this subject matter quite recently. I know that he likes what this society is trying to achieve in this often forgotten field of military history and was happy to become an Honorary Member of the society, I'm sure that I speak for all when I say "Welcome".
