Just a quick note, as always, before I begin to type out these following pages in April. Why am I doing this in April and not February? Well in mid-February during a weeks vacation I decided that the time had come for me to do what I'd been saying that the Society ought to branch into, that is booklets relating to a single subject. The period that was thought to be long, enough expanded to six weeks, rather than two, but I have finished the lst Booklet and hopefully people will want to read it and buy it. The title for this 1st Booklet is "THE PACIFIC WAR 1879 - 1884", this is the war between Chile on one hand and Peru and Bolivia on the other, it has 70 pages with maps, uniform illustrations, order of battles, details of Land and Naval Battles and Campaigns, so there should be something for everyone there. The price is £ 4.00 to non-members and £ 3.20 for members, plus postage [use the rates for a single issue of "E.D.", on top of this page 1, the reason for telling you all now is that a good number of members should be re-subscribing, while a good number are from abroad, and to cut bank costs down write a cheque to cover the purchase the booklet as well as the subscription.

I received the Windrow & Greene's "MILITARIA DIRECTORY AND SOURCEBOOK 1993" last week, this society is in it, the 1993 edition has included European museums, societies, bookshops, publishers, but because takes time for organizations etc. to become aware the amount of addresses for Europe were not as many as I had hoped for, so to all of you who are in societies, etc. and have not known about this handy source-book please write to " WINDROW & GREENE LTD, 5 GERRARD STREET, LONDON, W1V 7LJ, ENGLAND", with details. Each entrant is entitled to full trading name, address, telephone and fax numbers, and individual contact name if wished, PLUS a 25 word [maximum] description of your business/service/activities, FREE for inclusion in CNE section of the Directory. I hope that you will all get involved for the next issue. I would expect that in the 1994 issue names and addresses for the Americas could be included, if I was printing it they would!
