By Terry Hooker

MIKE'S MINIATURES (29 LOANE ROAD, SHOLING, SOUTHHAMPTON, S02 7PF. ENGLAND) has informed me that he will be concentrate on selling only 25mm Western Wargaming figures and buildings [all periods that are made]. By doing so his stock of 54mm figures are to be sold at reduced prices such as 54mm foot figs. £ 4.00 each or 3 for £ 10.00, 54mm mounted at £ 12.00, these are just some examples, if interested in finding out more on the makes and figures available and details of other reductions please write to Mike, or phone [0703] 421956.

It would appear that a new manufacturer of military figures has started up, but this firm could be of interest to to some of us, because he makes them in Brazil. Now I was told of him via a member who had seen an advertisement in the French magazine "Tradition" (back page?). The two 54mm figures were: Cavalry: Rio Grande de Sul 1845-1851, campaign dress and a Lanceiro de Guedes 1835-1845 [unit commanded by Lt. Col. Jacinto Guedes da Luz, raised from Guarany and Charrua Indians, half casts and mulattos, they fought loyally under the motto: "I'm a Guedes man. I may die dried up but won't surrender." In the "Farroupilha Revolution" of Rio Grande de Sao Pedro [I'll have to type up some details of this Revolution in the future as it could make an interesting wargame Garibaldi fought here before going to Uruguay. ]
