If you have an idea of the French language, even if it's as little as mine, and are interested in either of these two subjects then write to:
M. Michel Clemenceau Also for details on other Special Issue back numbers. T.D.H. Received from Mr. Andrew Preziosi details of his "Order of Battle" charts. He has only recently branched out into Latin American military history. My Osprey title might have given him the impetus to research this area. At this moment in time Andrew has typed up details from a number of Spanish language books dealing with The Wars of Independence: Venezuela, Colombia, Gran Colombia, Peru, Argentina and Chile and the War of the Triple Alliance: Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay [there is not very much on the Paraguayan troops so I wasn't surprised by the lack of data on them. The only book that, to me, helps on this subject is: Francisco Solano Lopez; Nationalheld oder Kriegsverbrecher?", by Jurg Meister, pub. Biblio Verlag, Osnabruck 1987. I have yet to see anything from Paraguay that relates to Battalion/Regimental strengths and officer & other ranks names, but I live in hope.]. There are a lot of pages so would think that it would be best to write for an up to date listing of "O.Bs." that available, 116 titles on Venezuela, Colombia, Gran Colombia and Peru! His prices are:
