I've been in touch with the "Hispanic American Military History Preservation Society" which is headed by Mr Marco J. Gonzalez, this society's handout states that it is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to providing history as a hands on learning experience, offering lectures, field trips, military discipline and actual. participation in historical reenactments throughout the U.S.A. with its goals being to teach history and represent Hispanic heritage in nationwide events. All to the good I say, pity that I'm not a reenactor or in the U.S.A. although they do have a library and much bigger financial backing that a number of people and societies that I know, including me! In Mr.Gonzalez's letter he tells me that no newsletter as such is printed, [pleased to say that he's a member of El Dorado], but is involved with a film being made in Mexico on Hernan Cortes and maybe one on the Triple Alliance, these, one would assume, helps to keep the society solvent. The society will also research material on any related subject but a fee is asked to cover costs etc. If you wish to know more about this society please write to Mr. M.J. Gonzalez, C/O The Hispanic American Military History Preservation Society, La Guardia Civil del Rancho San Pablo, Alta California, 3611 Andrade Avenue, Richmond, CA 94804. U.S.A. [sorry I don't know the prices that they charge for their research facility, this I believe varies as to the time spent on each project.] Back to Table of Contents -- El Dorado Vol III No. 6 Back to El Dorado List of Issues Back to MagWeb Master Magazine List © Copyright 1991 by The South and Central Military Historians Society This article appears in MagWeb.com (Magazine Web) on the Internet World Wide Web.
