Sent in by Sr. J. Balaguer from the Dress Regulations, the illustrations are drawn by J. ZARATE, who must of illustrated the complete set of Regulations [I don't know as I haven't a copy of them! T.D.H.] FIGS. 1,2 & 3. Epaulettes, 1 & 2 are for Officers and are both gold lace, while No.3. is for Other Ranks and is red. FIG.4. Officers boot, black. FIG.5. Helmet, skull, visor and back plates are in polished steel, brass [or gilt if officer] comb, front plate, edging to visor and back guard, chin-scales, boss and feather plume holder, black horse hair hanging plume, feather plume in National colours [red top, white centre, red on the bottom], FIG.6. Front and rear view of Officers tunic, [winter]. Tunic black [although in photographs it looks a very dark blue], black cuffs with red flap and gold lace, collar red with patch in dark blue, gilt badge, gold lace epaulette straps, gilt buttons. FIG.7. Close up of officers collar. FIG.8. Front and rear view of Other Ranks tunic [summer]. Tunic white with brass buttons, rank chevron gold with red edging, collar patch dark blue. FIGS. 9 & 10 are trousers and breeches for Officers, both being red, for Superior Officers the stripe would be of gold lace while for Junior officers the stripe is black. Note; Gold aiguillettes are worn by officers on the right shoulder while red aiguillettes are worn on the left shoulder by Other Ranks. Black riding boots are worn by the Regiment with steel spurs, a lance is also used with a rectangular penant in the National colours, the bars being vertical.
