This plate from the one by J.P. de Veer depicts uniforms adopted on May 27, 1869, by the "Koninklijke Nederlandische Indies Leger" abolished in 1882 [at least theoretically] it continued in use in the West Indies Force until at least 1900 [date of abolition unknown]. Kepi dark blue, light blue piping, [vertical piping on front and rear seams, only not on side seams, base band dark blue with both edges piped in light blue. Tunic dark blue, yellow shoulder cords, brass buttons, yellow chevron on sleeve. Trousers dark blue, black waist belt, a brown "Expense pouch" with black straps, brass waist belt buckle, brown rifle sling, side arm 1842 model artillery sword [Dutch], black shoes. FIG. 6.
