PLATE 2: BRAZIL

FIG. No.1: OFFICER 27th Battalion of Chasseurs [German Mercenaries]. Shako black, gilt plate and National Coat of Arms, National cockade [green in centre, yellow outer], black bow, plume with a yellow top section and green base. Tunic dark blue, collar dark blue, cuffs and turnbacks red, gold lace on collar and cuffs, red piping on the front of the tunic, epaulette gold lace, waist sash red, trousers white, pouch belt black with silver oval plate, sword hilt gilt, sword knot in red and gold, scabbard in black leather and gilt fittings, sword slings black, spats white, black shoes.

FIG. No.2: Grenadier 2nd. Battalion of Grenadiers. Shako black, National cockade, black ribbon/bow. red plume, brass Battalion number plate, black visor. Tunic dark blue, cuffs and collar red, white piping to collar, cuffs and front of tunic, gold lace grenades on collar, turnbacks white, shoulder wings red with white stripe along crest, trousers white, spats and cross-belts white, brass plate, black shoes.

PLATE No.1.: ARGENTINA

FIG. No.1: Shield [ESCUDO] issued to the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th. Infantry Battalions aswell as the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 8th and 9th. Cavalry Regiments, as decreed on the 19th. March 1827, this was to be worn on the left forearm.

FIG. No.2: Map of the area where the Campaigns and Battles occured during this War.

FIG. No.3: LANCER, 2nd. Line Regiment, Shako dark blue, top band [and top of shako] black leather, brass plate, red cords and tassels, National cockade under red "carrot" plume, black leather visor edged in brass, chinscales also of brass. Tunic dark blue, collar, cuffs, turnbacks and lapels dark blue with red piping on the collar, cuffs, lapels and turnbacks, yellow flaming grenade on turnbacks, epaulette red, brass buttons, breeches dark blue with red stripe, black boots and pouch, pouch belt white, red pistol cord. Shabraque dark blue, red lace, outer edge being dark blue, yellow grenade, black fur saddle cover with red cloth edge, roll dark blue, piped red, black leather harness.
