Fig.3; Infantry Officer, campaign uniform. Kepi; red crown with blue base band, gold piping & rank lace, brass unit number, on the top a gold quatrefoil knot. Tunique; dark blue, brass buttons, gold lace on cuffs & shoulders. Trousers crimson, boots light brown. Fig.4; Private, campaign uniform. Kepi; red crown with blue base band & piping, brass unit number. Jacket; dark blue with a single row of brass buttons. Trousers crimson, light brown (infantry model) some units wore white canvas or cloth gaiters. Fig.5; Private, full equipment-campaign dress. White fine canvas kepi cover, brown blanket, white haversack, white metal water canteen with cup, canvas ammunition pouches, brown leather equipment, Comblain rifle & sabre bayonet. Note also the Infantry Model boots without canvas gaiters.
